New Year's DIY - Wool Felt Garland

This end of year has been very difficult. The 4 of us caught the flu and were very ill for Christmas, so much that we didn't celebrate it. The girls opened their gifts but had no energy whatsoever to play with them :( One week later we still feel like we got hit in the face by a bus but we are certain to be moving to recovering mode. It's been hell but we are going to step into 2014 with a smile and with strength. Today, I created an easy yet beautiful DIY that I can share with you for the new year coming. Enjoy!!

Materials:  wool felt (7 different colors), scissors, pins, cardboard templates (triangles), about 10 feet of                  bias tape. You can use the left overs to make a crown ;)

Twiggy and Lou ♥ Mount Royal Mint on Etsy

Making things along the years reinforced my love for other handmade things. So much love and attention goes into the craft you are working on, and no matter how long it takes. We give so much of ourselves that we get attached to what we make. At least, this is how I feel about what I create.
Today, I discovered the work of Mount Royal Mint on Etsy. I already know that a lot of love was used to create these little animals. See for yourself...

Coiffeur NYC - Window Display 2013

Coiffeur is a modern hair salon located in the heart of the financial district in Manhattan. It's the second year in a row that the owner Stephane Rebillard gives me carte blanche for the creation of their window display and I couldn't be more grateful. Trust brings creativity to higher grounds... Thank you Stephane. Here are a few pictures of the display.

DIY - Our Advent Calendar 2013

Oh December! Watching the snow flurries fall delicately atop a tree branch while sipping on wine in front of a bright fire... I love this Holiday season. This year again, I attempted to make an advent calendar for both my daughters so they can enjoy it at the same time. They love opening their little surprise and share them at the same moment. For me, it's pure joy to see them do that. Recently, both of them showed an interest in collecting rocks of all sorts so I purchased about 20 rocks of all kind (Pyrite, Tiger eye, Occos, Quartz...) So here we go, I've capture all of the things that I used to make this happen. It was easy but time consuming. As I promised my husband that I wouldn't put a new nail on the wall, I taped all the bags :)
